Like many other schools, Shanhua Junior High had an old audiovisual classroom with tiered seating that was seldom used. It was remembered only during teacher meetings or the evening self-study sessions before major exams.
Since the stepped structure was built in reinforced concrete and could not be removed within the available budget, the design team reimagined it as a series of multi-level platforms, turning an existing constraint into a new seating solution. Concealed storage cabinets were incorporated beneath the platforms, creating a clean and streamlined overall ambience. The blue accent wall, complemented by gray soft furnishings and low wooden tables, establishes a calm and soothing atmosphere for students and teachers alike.
