Tainan Municipal Shengli Elementary School|Kids’ Media Studio
Tainan Shengli Elementary School’s signature curriculum centers on student photography production. Due to limited resources, students previously relied on an outdated computer classroom as their photo studio, where mismatched furniture and basic peripheral equipment made both teaching and learning highly inconvenient. Upon entering the site, the design team redefined the spatial functions and divided the room into a “Creative Discussion Room” and a “Media Production Room” according to user needs.
The Creative Discussion Room adopts modular, reconfigurable tables and chairs that allow greater flexibility in teaching, incorporating arched motifs inspired by Tainan’s historic cityscape and large whiteboard surfaces for instruction and group discussion. The Media Production Room features suspended mounting systems and backdrop rolls that enable adaptable lighting setups and professional shooting environments. In addition, newly added equipment storage, an editing zone, and a makeup and styling area further elevate the space toward a more professional standard. It is here that Taiwan’s next generation of emerging filmmakers may one day take their first creative steps.
