“ Music is about communication, creativity, and cooperation, and by studying music in schools, students have the opportunity to build on these skills, enrich their lives, and experience the world from a new perspective.”
Creating a Choral Performance Stage to Strengthen the Spirit of Music Education
Soft theatrical ambience is introduced through drapery and illuminated light boxes, while choral risers and a sculpted ceiling establish the spatial hardware necessary for performance. Together, these elements create a high-quality learning environment for music education. Through a subtractive design approach, outdated windproof louvers were removed and deteriorated aluminum windows were replaced, allowing natural light and exterior views to enter the classroom and significantly improving the overall spatial quality.
Integrating Product Design Thinking to Enhance Interaction Between Design and Students
The design team introduced product design thinking into the renovation process, beginning with modular and combinable components. Modular seating enhances storage functionality, while a system of combinable light boxes paired with lighting design contributes to the spatial atmosphere. Through hands-on workshops, teachers and students were invited to explore the potential of design, deepening their understanding of the space and expanding the interactive benefits of the renovation.
